Protractor Guided Tours - Workflow Management

Protractor Concepts in a little more depth

These Guided Tours will introduce you to the major Protractor concepts in a little more depth. Each tour covers one Protractor topic, and each topic builds on concepts covered in previous topics. Therefore, your first time through, you should consider viewing the tours in the order they are presented.

The tours are self-running, narrated Flash® tours. You will require a fast Internet connection, a computer equipped with a sound system, and a screen resolution of at least 1024x768.

Workflow Management Tour Part 1 (Approximate Tour Time: 9 min.)

The Service Desk in an auto repair shop can be an intensely busy place. Service Advisors must track every job through each stage of it's completion, while interacting with customers, technicians and suppliers. We begin the discussion of Protractor's Workflow Management features with an overview of the workflow process.


Workflow Management Tour Part 2 (Approximate Tour Time: 15 min.)

Protractor's Work In Progress Manager provides tools to automate every step in the workflow process in as much granularity as a job warrants. In Part 2 of this Tour, we take a detailed look at the Work In Progress Manager.


Work Order Part 1 (Approximate Tour Time: 10 min.)

This tour will privde an overview of the many tools and options that are available in the Work Order Editor. This is part 1 of a 4 parts tour.


Work Order Part 2 (Approximate Tour Time: 8 min.)

This tour will discuss adding and managing services, reported problems, inspections, and labor items on the Work Order Editor. This is part 2 of a 4 parts tour.


Work Order Part 3 (Approximate Tour Time: 9 min.)

This tour will discuss managing material items in detail. Specifically how parts can be drawn from inventory or sourced from a supplier. This is part 3 of a 4 parts tour.


Work Order Part 4 (Approximate Tour Time: 6 min.)

This tour will privde a detailed view of deferred work, pin-point inspections, work order analysis, and invoice posting. This is part 4 of a 4 parts tour.


Counter Sale & Credits (Approximate Tour Time: 9 min.)

The counter sale provides a quick method of selling wholesale and retail materials as well as services over the counter. The credit slip wizard combines retrieving an invoice from history and processing a credit.


Estimates & Templates (Approximate Tour Time: 6 min.)

The tour will demonstrate Protractor's ability to quickly build estimates and how you can automate the work order process using templates.
