This picture shows the setup dialog used to enter the target profit margin numbers.You must specify low and high target profit margins for each Master Service Category and Sales Department. These targets are used by the software for dynamic job cost analysis during Invoice preparation.
For each Master Service Category and Sales Department, you must specify targets for:
Labor,
Outside Labor,
Materials,
Whole Goods, and
Service Packages.
On the Analysis tab of the Work Order documents editor, the profit margins for each job are displayed the following colors:
RED indicates below the low profit margin.
Black indicates between the low and high profit margins.
GREEN indicates above the high profit margin target.
This color coding serve as an aid to the Service Advisor (or anyone creating an invoice) to be certain needed profit margins are being generated for each job. These numbers are also used by the Invoice Posting Wizard when it warns of low target margins at invoice posting time.
