A service package is a pre-defined package or kit of labor descriptions, materials and supplies that form a service that you frequently provide. Service Packages may easily be added to an invoice as a single unit, thereby saving considerable time.
TIP: The software's Service Packages are tightly integrated with the software's online parts and labor guides. So when Service Packages are placed on Work Orders, part numbers, parts prices, labor times, and labor prices may easily be customized to the vehicle currently being worked on.
A typical Service Package is shown here.
As you can see in the picture above, a Service package may include:
Tools are provided to easily change the format of each individual line item to show or hide hourly rates, technician names, individual item prices, etc.
Service Packages (which are sometimes called kits) may be thought of as mini-invoices which describe each common service at your shop. You can drop them onto an invoice with the click of a mouse.
Service Packages (especially Service Package Templates), make it easy to set up limited time special package pricing for advertised specials or coupon programs.
Note that the software's Service Package parts and labor lines are programmable:
Labor times may be programmed to dynamically link to the labor guide. When the labor guide is accessed from the labor item, it will automatically search for the specific labor operation for the work order's specific vehicle. This is done using a reference to The software's online Labor Guides.
Part numbers may be programmed to dynamically link to the parts catalog. When the parts catalog is accessed from the material line item, it will automatically search for the specific parts required based on the work order's vehicle information. This is done by doing a lookup in the software's online Electronic Parts Catalog. This feature leads to much faster online parts ordering.
