Setting up Bank Accounts

The software allows you to set up and maintain bank account transactions in any number of business bank accounts including credit card accounts. You will set up the various business bank accounts using the Bank Accounts Setup dialog.

Select Add; the New Bank Account dialog opens.
Type the Bank Account Name (use a short name that describes the purpose of the account).
Type the name of the applicable bank.
Type the account number.
Type your contact's name at the bank.
Type a phone number for your bank contact.
If the account is a credit card, check the Credit Card box.
If you plan to write checks on this account, check the Write checks from this bank account checkbox.
If you would like to manually set check numbers when writing checks choose Set check number manually.
Enterprise Bank Account - If you have multiple locations and you are logged into the head office, you can specify that the bank account as an enterprise bank account.
Select Apply on the New Bank Account dialog.
Select Save on the Bank Accounts dialog to save the changes to the list.

Note: When a credit card account is created it will be created under liabilities in the general ledger.

Highlight the Bank Account you want to modify.
Select Update; the Update Bank Account dialog opens.
Modify the bank account information as required.
Select Apply on the Update Bank Account dialog.
Select Save on the Bank Accounts dialog to save the changes to the list.

Ensure the applicable Bank Account has a $0.00 balance.
Highlight the Bank Account you want to remove.
Select Remove.
Answer Yes to the confirmation dialog.
Select Save to save the changes to the list.

IMPORTANT: You may not remove a Bank Account if it has a balance. If you attempt to remove a Bank Account with a balance (positive or negative), the software will display a dialog which displays the account balance. Therefore, to remove a Bank Account, ensure it has a $0.00 balance first.
