Setting up Asset Accounts

About Asset Accounts

In the software, you can define Asset Accounts for current, capital or long term assets. Some accounts are predefined for you. These accounts include: cash drawer, inventory, transfers clearing account, payment from other locations, and reclaimable taxes. Bank accounts are defined using a separate tool and accounts receivable are created using the contacts manager.

The software allows you to set up and maintain any number of Asset Accounts. You will set them up using the Asset Accounts Setup dialog.

To access the Asset Accounts Setup dialog:

  1. Click on Tools

  2. Select Location

  3. Select General Ledger Accounts

  4. Choose the type of asset account from the list.

To Remove a Capital Asset Account:

IMPORTANT: You may not remove an Asset Account if it has a balance. If you attempt to remove a Asset Account with a balance (positive or negative), The software will display a dialog which displays the account balance. Therefore, to remove a Asset Account, ensure it has a $0.00 balance first.
