Webinar 4 - Inventory Material Control

Inventory materials are items that you stock for resale. Many day-to-day inventory management functions are available in the Utilities module, which offers a full array of functions for managing inventory.

In addition to the help articles, you can view detail walkthroughs of several inventory features in these webinar segments:

Part 1: Inventory Material Control - Searching, Receiving, Returns & Recounts

Part 2: Inventory Material Control (Part 2) & Reorders

Part 3: Inventory Material POs, Batches, and History + Q&A

The sections below give brief explanations of the content that is found in these webinars, along with links to the corresponding help articles.

Receiving, returns, and recounts

From the inventory material card, you can receive, return, and recount items. In the Inventory Management article, have a look at the different tips and trips for dealing with a variety of different scenarios.

Inventory reorder

In the Home ribbon, click Utilities > Inventory reorder to create reorder lists according to high/low settings and also past sales. Upon completing the list, you can convert it to a purchase order in the system, from which it's easy to receive the items at a later date. See the Inventory Management article for more details.

Inventory Price Levels

Every inventory item has a base cost and a base selling price. However, you may need more than one pricing level to represent different price points–for special pricing on particular customer types, wholesale, or employees. You can define as many Inventory Price Levels as you need. Once you establish your pricing levels, you can use the Contacts feature to setup customers for purchasing at a specific level. Also, you can configure items on service packages to sell at a specific level. See the Inventory Price Levels article for more details.

Batch Updates

To supplement the guidance in webinar, review the Inventory Materials article for details about updating material information and price levels for multiple inventory items simultaneously.
