Shop Manager includes a dashboard feature, which provides an at-a-glance view of various types of data. A dashboard consists of one or more widgets. Each widget is built upon a report, which you can then customize very much like the options available in the reports facility.

You can add, edit, and delete dashboards, and also arrange and configure the widgets on any dashboard. Widgets can display reports and/or charts.

Watch the video segments below to view a walkthrough on each of these reports.

Below is a summary of each of the subtopics that we cover in this webinar.

Building a Dashboard with Widgets

To build a dashboard, you continue to add widgets that you can feasibly arrange on the screen. Continue reading below to see how to add and configure widgets.

To add a widget, click the Add button in the Widget section of the ribbon. In the Report Select popup window, locate and select the desired report. Click the Select box at bottom to add the report that will support this widget.

In the Widget Report Setup window, you can configure the widget with many of the basic and advanced features that are available for Reports.

Dashboard Date Range

You can now place a Date Range Controller onto the dashboard that will control all widget that are synchronized with it. To configure your dashboard with this feature, you need to enable it in at least one of the widgets. Open a widget and check the Use dashboard date range box in the widget setting panel.  A set of date range drop-downs will appear at the top of the dashboard, along with an i icon that will display tooltip listing all of the widget(s) that the date range controls. This makes it clear to the user which of the widgets are controlled by the date range.  When the dashboard is saved, the last used date range will also be saved and the dashboard will use that date range the next time it is launched.

Execute, confirm, and save the widget

Click the Execute button in the ribbon and review the chart or report listing. When you are happy with the results of your widget, review the Name and Description click the Save button in the ribbon to return to the dashboard and see the new widget there.
