An Inspection result is the status of the technician's findings when performing an inspection. You are able to define your own inspection results or use the default values.
To access the Inspection feature in setup, click on the Setup command button in the Home ribbon, then click Work Order Setup > Inspection Results in the left window pane. Also, click the List button on the ribbon.
The software does not come with any inspection results defined, so we recommend using the following:
O (OK) - the inspected item has no issues.
S (Suggested) - the technician suggests that the inspected item should get repair or service. This could indicate that a maintenance service is being recommended, or that a part no longer functions according to specification.
R (Required) - the inspected item needs repair or service to safely to assure safe operation.
To add or edit an inspection result, first access the Inspection Results feature as shown in the steps in the first section of this article, then follow the steps in each subsection below to add or edit inspection results.
In this tab, do the following:
To add a new inspection result, click the Add button in the ribbon.
To edit an existing inspection result, select it from the list and then click the Edit button in the ribbon.
Code - enter the short form for the inspection result, such as "R" (the code for Required).
Label - enter the long form for the inspection result, such as "Required".
Value - enter the text that is used in reports.
Background Color - Choose the color that will appear as the background for the inspection result. Color coding is a convenient visual aid that can assist in determining the status of any of the inspection results–at a glance. For example, in regard to a lengthy inspection, it's easy to distinguish all of the Required results if they all appear with a red background.
Here, the technician can record comments for the inspected item. If preferable, comments can be preset. Remember that the comments are not tailored for specific inspection results, so there will be uniformity across all. As such, this may be appropriate for shops that follow the MAP/AMRA methodology. To add a comment, click the Add command button in the ribbon. To edit an existing comment, choose it from the listing and then click the Edit button in the ribbon.
To change the list order, drag and drop the item to the new location, and then click the Save command button in the ribbon..
To delete an inspection result, follow these steps:
