Overview - Reports

You generate most management & financial reports using the software's powerful Reports Manager. Reports are generated based on a variety of applicable parameters, and all reporting periods are user-defined. Vital Signs provides powerful management reporting by profit center, service categories, sales departments, technicians, and service advisors. Vital Signs has its own section outside of the Reports Manager.

To access the Reports Manager.

The Reports Manager is divided into the follow sections:

Common Report Buttons

Select Report - Allows you to select the report to create.

New - Sets the report back to its default options as if you had just opened the report. Select your new parameters and create the report again.

Create - Runs the report based on the selected parameters.

Lines - Displays the total lines contained in the report once created.

Print - Contains the software's standard print options. Some reports offer a summarized or detailed report option. The Print Preview will allow you to adjust printer settings before printing the report.

Export - Allows you to export the created report to XML spreadsheet format or CSV format.

Close - Closes the Reports Manager.

Note: Some reports have unique buttons. These button will be explained on each report's help topic.

Customizing A Report

Sorting - Once reports are displayed on the screen, most can be sorted by clicking on the heading you want to sort by. Clicking once will sort in ascending order and clicking a second time will sort in descending order.

Order - Most reports allow you to organize each column's position. Left click and hold on the heading and drag the heading to another heading location and let go of the mouse button. The column will be moved and will remember your settings for this report on the particular workstation.
