Templates allow you to build and save work order documents with any number of common services, problems, and inspections. You can then use the templates when starting New Work, Counter Sales, or Estimates. You can also preset a workstation to start any work order document based on a specific template.
Create an estimate as per the instructions in the Estimates topic.
On the last screen of the estimate, click File and choose Convert to Template.
Give the template a name and save it.
It will be save in the Templates folder of the Work in Progress.
Click on the Templates shortcut.
Select the document type:
New Work
Counter Sale
Estimate
Choose a template from the drop down list.
The work order document starts with the items from the template already applied. Continue as normal.
Click on the Templates node in the Work in Progress Manager.
Double-click on the template that you wish to edit.
Make the necessary changes and then click on File | Save Template.
Click on the Templates node in the Work in Progress Manager.
Double-click on the template that you wish to delete.
Click on File | Delete Template.
You can set a workstation to start each document type based on a template. See Workstation Defaults Work Order Tab.
Any edits you make to the comments section of the template will transfer to the generated invoice/counter sale.
